Our focus in teaching, research, and collaborative projects with industry spans the areas of generative AI, business analytics, digital transformation, semantic document analysis (e.g., extreme classification of documents, content analysis, assistance systems for knowledge workers), and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) methods for decision support in (print) media production, trading on financial and crypto markets, and logistics (optimization of pallet loading).

To this end, we design and implement information systems. Together with partners in the field, we design data-centric product, process, and business model innovations. We use a wide range of machine learning/artificial intelligence methods, including LLM/Transformer, deep learning approaches, and genetic algorithms.
