Short Bio

Oliver graduated from the University of Cologne in 2009 with a Diploma degree in Business Information Systems. In the following 12 years - before returning to the Cologne Institute for Information Systems (CIIS) to pursue his PhD studies – Oliver gained vast experience as a strategy, M&A, and IT consultant for PwC and Deloitte. He led and coordinated M&A-related project work, transformational and restructuring projects, as well as go-to-market initiatives for leading international corporations from various industries. Oliver also works as a startup-CFO at deckenpost, as a startup advisor, and as an entrepreneur in the field of renewable energies.

In his research, Oliver focuses on Machine Learning in Financial Markets, e.g. in the application of NLP models to financial documents and statements, in the analysis of news and social media communication as well as in the area of financial fraud and regulation.
